WZU Veluwe is an elderly care organization on the North Veluwe, with over 1,000 employees and volunteers they provide care and support when needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Doornspijk, Elburg, Epe, ‘t Harde, Nunspeet, Oene and Wapenveld. To all clients, in their own home, in a care home or in the residential care center lives. The employees of WZU Veluwe are happy to be your helping hand.

Challenge: Making sure control of escalations is insightful and easier

The challenge is to digitize error-prone and manual processes. This prevents errors and saves time. In this case, it concerns an escalation process within the electronic client file, Our Nedap. It is required by law to log, visualize and review all escalation activities. The current way to review was time-consuming, with many manual actions using various Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook).

Solution: 1,000 escalations per month in one app

The solution to this challenge is a clear and user-friendly Power App. In the Power App, the Excel export is automatically read in with Power Automate. The patterns and definitions are then recognized and displayed in a clear way. The insights are organized from the perspective of both the practitioner and the client. Patterns that stand out are filtered out and employees are emailed from the Power App. With this, manual actions are automated and in addition, all activities are logged.

What did the client think?

The healthcare industry faces great challenges, healthcare workers experience a great administrative burden. Much of the workload comes from the large amount of administrative actions. Keeping up, retyping and manual checks does not provide value for the clients. Support services also experience this; digitization can relieve this. To keep everything running smoothly, we decided to start using Power Apps. In cooperation with Sparse our problem has been solved, which also creates more time for support services to properly support the primary process.
